Files generation in Cache folder

Hi,
My hosting service has warned me that there is excessive generation of files in the cache folders and unless I stop it, there are chances that my account will be deactivated. For example, one of my site cache folder has 34000 xml files. There are relevant and irrelevant files getting generated.
My questions:
1) How do I stop generation of irrelevant keywords files?
2) If I delete all the files in the cache folder, what will be the effect on traffic?
3) How do I delete the files in cache folder?
I am looking for immediate solution or my hosting account will be deactivated.

Had exactly the same
Had exactly the same conversation with my host about a year ago.
1) It's impossible to stop the generation of 'irrelevant' keywords files. No one but yourself knows what's 'relevant' and what's not.
2) What kind of traffic do you mean? Deleting the files will just case an increase in incoming traffic as you script grabs all the keyworkds again nless you make a change to it.
3) Using your FTP program or control panel to do a recursive delete.
Couple of options to address this issue:
a) Disable the 'Related' and 'Similar Topics' in your theme and index.php
b) lower the value for $site["CACHE_KEYWORD_TIME"] to a day, then after a day check the number of files crated
c) set up a cron job to clear the cache folder same as b)
